I've decided to suspend rewrite in Angular, and am now writing a new WebApi backend, and a React NextUI frontend.
I have been the Windows Bluetoooth guy for the Google NearbyShare project for the last 2-3 years. That project is now complete. I am now looking into catching up with Web Development, starting with cleaning this place up over the next few weeks.
Ok, I think I've fully recovered from surgery, and I'm back to working on the web site. I have started a .Net Core 3 version of the site, and should have something in the next week or so. I will be setting up a subdomain for it to start. When that happens I will post here.
I'm working on an Angular version of this website. It will still be MVC with Entity FrameworkCore. Stay tuned for updates.
To follow a user, just click on Users in the nav bar above, then click on a user, then click on follow.
There are some rough spots right now due to the porting of the code from my local server. I think the most urgent issues are:
Seriously, I need the email service to work, and I will be focusing on that (I'm tired of doing things that should be automated and aren't due to the email service being broken!!! :))
Oh, did I mention the email service is broken. Who knew that email was so critical to running a website unattended???? lol
Well, that was certainly exciting. Apparently my new service provider had technical issues with their server. They seem to have solved the issues at this point and I am back online WOOT!!!!
I think I'll start a forum to keep track of broken features and the status of their fixes.
User registration is broken due to changing email providers. If you attempt to register the site will crash. You can always reload and browse anonymously. Don't try to re-register if you already have registered, it will not work. I will have user registration working soon.
Whew Now hosted properly, no longer on my home server.
